Man who issued death threat to Mankirt Aulakh arrested at Delhi Airport

The Punjab Police have arrested a man accused of issuing death threats to popular Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh and his family. The accused, identified as Harjinder Singh from Khudda Jassu village in Chandigarh, was apprehended at Delhi Airport while attempting to flee abroad.

Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans confirmed the arrest and stated that the accused is under interrogation, with police expecting major disclosures in the coming days.

Lived in Italy for Several Years

Investigations revealed that Harjinder Singh had been living in Italy for a number of years. As police intensified their probe into the threats, he allegedly planned another escape abroad but was intercepted at Delhi Airport.

Case Registered in Mohali

On Mankirt Aulakh’s complaint, a case was registered at Mataur Police Station under Sections 318(5) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are now seeking his remand to uncover further details.

Threats Sent from Foreign Number

The threats were delivered through WhatsApp messages and calls made from a foreign number. In one of the Punjabi-language threats, the accused allegedly warned:

“Get ready, your time has come. Whether it’s your wife or your child, it doesn’t matter to us. You will be finished—watch how it happens.”

Gang Links Under Probe

Police are also probing possible gang connections behind the threats. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those attempting to spread fear and disturb peace in Punjab.
