A massive fire broke out at a tent house warehouse in Nangal Ambian village near Shahkot in Jalandhar district late Friday night, destroying the entire stock of goods stored inside. The incident reportedly caused a financial loss of approximately ₹20 lakh to the warehouse owner.

The warehouse belonged to Ranjit Kumar Billa, who runs a business under the name of Billa Tent and Sound Service. According to the owner, the fire broke out around midnight and quickly spread across the warehouse, engulfing the stored material.

Warehouse Built Just a Month Ago

According to the available information, Ranjit Kumar Billa had constructed the new warehouse only around a month ago. The facility was being used to store equipment and materials required for his tent house business.

As flames spread rapidly, local residents gathered at the spot and attempted to control the fire. The Fire Brigade was informed, following which a team from Nakodar reached the village.

1,300 Chairs, Coolers and Tent Equipment Reduced to Ashes

The owner said the warehouse contained around 1,300 chairs, tables, 10 coolers, fans, tent equipment, a Peter rehri and other essential items used for business operations.

Since much of the stored material consisted of plastic and fabric, the fire spread rapidly, leaving little scope to salvage the goods. By the time firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after considerable effort, the entire stock had reportedly been destroyed. The warehouse shed was also severely damaged.

Owner Suspects Deliberate Fire, Seeks Investigation

Ranjit Kumar Billa has raised suspicion that unidentified miscreants may have deliberately set the warehouse on fire due to personal enmity. However, the suspected cause has not been independently established.

The owner said the destruction of the newly constructed warehouse and the loss of his business equipment had caused him significant distress. He estimated the total financial loss at around ₹20 lakh.

He has appealed to the administration to conduct a fair investigation into the incident and provide appropriate compensation for the losses suffered.
