While Indian Army, Punjab Police, NDRF, and NGOs have joined hands for rescue operations, a special vehicle has caught everyone's attention.
In order to carry out rescue operation and save people's lives stuck in floods, Indian Army has deployed its special vehicle ATOR N1200 in Amritsar. The video of ATOR N1200 vehicle in Amritsar rescuing people amid flood is grabbing attention of people on social media.
Did you know that Indian Army's ATOR N1200 vehicle is Made In India and brain behind it is none other than a Punjabi industrialist named- Vladimir Jaskirat Singh Nagra.

As mentioned above, ATOR N1200 has been made by Punjabi industrialist Jaskirat Singh Nagra's JSW Gecko Motors Company. Ukrainian and Indian teams are jointly producing it in Chandigarh Industrial Area. In the Indian Army, this vehicle is called Kapi Dhvaj, which increases the army's movement capabilities in inaccessible mountainous and snowy areas like Siachen and Ladakh.
Jaskirat Singh Nagra is the director of JSW Gecko Motors and lives in Chandigarh. As per reports, Gecko Motors was started in 2021 by merging several companies. Earlier his company used to make off-road vehicles. This brought him to the notice of the army. The Indian Army gave its idea in 2020. The army wanted a vehicle that could run in every condition like water-land, mountain, mud, snow.
After getting the idea from the army's need and military officials, research was started on making such a vehicle.
This idea was thought about many times for 4 years. Many projects were made. This idea, which started from Punjab, ended in Ukraine. JSW and Gecko Motors prepared it in collaboration with their Ukrainian partner. In 2024, this vehicle was introduced for the first time in the Republic Day parade. It took three years to build it.
In the year 2020, after partnering with the Ukrainian company, its construction started in the industrial area of Chandigarh according to Indian conditions.
It has been used not only in Punjab but also in the natural calamity in Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir and in Uttarakhand. This vehicle, made after the demand of the Indian Army, is now being exported abroad as well.
Based in Chandigarh, Jaskirat Singh Nagra's LinkedIn profile says that he CEO and Director - JSW Sarbloh Motors Pvt Ltd.
His LinkedIn bio reads, "Over 30 years successful experience of providing operational and strategic leadership in fields of project management, automotive design and manufacturing, electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and strategic supplier management. Have augmented the experience by successfully setting up and running entrepreneurial ventures."
Talking about Jaskirat Singh Nagra's educational qualification, he did B.E., Electronics & Telecommunication from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya between 1989-1993. Thereafter, he studied at Lancaster University. At Lancaster University, he studied MBA, Marketing & International Finance between 1999-2000.
After his studies, Nagra worked in Corporate Sector for over 22 years. Thereafter, he setup an Entrepreneurial venture in the field of Environmental Technology and Automotive Engineering.
He has been Founder Director of Sarbloh Motors Pvt. Ltd. (formerly Infinia Greentech Pvt. Ltd.) for 9 years.
Thereafter, he became Founder Director of Gecko Motors Pvt. Ltd.
