ASHISHPURI Kapurthala,20 September; In a remarkable stroke of luck,a native of West Bengal who works as a farm labourer in the Banga area near Phagwara in Kapurthala district, has won the first prize of Rs 3 crore in the Sikkim Government’s Ganesh Chaturthi Bumper Lottery.
Originally from West Bengal, Madhua had come to Punjab in search of livelihood and was earning a living by working as a daily-wage labourer in the agricultural fields around Banga. According to reports, he purchased the winning lottery ticket from the Sahota Lottery Stall in Banga barely an hour before the draw was held.
About an hour after purchasing the ticket, Madhua learned that he had won the bumper prize of Rs 3 crore when the lottery results were announced.
Following his remarkable win, celebrations have begun among Madhua’s family members, relatives and acquaintances, who are overjoyed by the sudden turn of fortune.
