

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar on Tuesday gave update on the investigation about the bomb threat email that were received by schools in the district a few days back. On December 12, around 15 private schools of Amritsar received bomb threat email, following which students were safely sent back home and half day holiday was declared by DC as a precautionary measure.
Later, CP Bhullar in his address stated that the threat email received by schools turned out to be false and nothing suspicious was found by anti-sabotage teams. He had also said that local cyber cell, Punjab Police Cyber Cell and Central Agencies will investigate it to track the sender.
CP Bhullar said, "Investigation is still going on, soon results will come. We are in touch with central agencies. In earlier case, local children were found to be involved. It is a national level issue. Everyone is working very hard to crack this. But, the thing is information don't come quickly as email senders use VPN and Dark Net. We have also sent a request for information to Indian Cyber Portal part of Interpol."
It is pertinent to mention here that on Monday i.e. December 16, 11 schools of Jalandhar received similar bomb threat email. Following this, students were sent back home. As always anti-sabotage teams did not find any suspicious objects.
