A wedding ceremony of an NRI couple in the Patti area of Tarn Taran district has been in the spotlight and garnering a lot of views on social media. The video features the bride and the groom all decked up, where the groom can be seen showering the bride with currency notes while other relatives also stand surrounding them in an awe.
The video quickly gained a lot of traction online and a lot of speculations are being made around it. It is being alleged that the groom brought a sack full of currency notes mounting up to Rs 8 to 9 crore and showered it on the bride.
However, these speculations have been put to rest as the DJ, Nishan Singh resident of Tarn Taran, who overlocked all the related arrangements has now come forward and cleared the air surrounding the amount of the money. Making a statement on the matter the DJ clarifies that Rs 10 currency notes were used during the event and the total amount of notes that were showered over the bride by the groom were somewhere around Rs 3 Lakh. He clarified that since the notes were of Rs 10 only, they appeared more in quantity and it looked like it was a lot of money and seemed like the amount was a lot higher.
The DJ made it clear that it was not the case and the currency notes collectively mounted to Rs 3 lakh only. The video has garnered different reactions from the viewers as some are calling it a unique celebration, while others claim it to be a wasteful expenditure.
