Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Punjab in August, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu has said and according to Bittu, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a major railway project during the visit and also dedicate several other development projects to the people of Punjab however the exact date of the visit has not been finalised.

Speaking about the proposed visit Bittu said preparations are being planned but the official schedule will be announced once it is confirmed.

The railway project expected to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister is being seen as an important infrastructure development for the state and along with this, several other development projects are also expected to be launched during the visit however officials have not yet shared details of these projects.

The Prime Minister last visited Punjab on February 1 this year and during that visit he went to Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar, where he paid his respects and met Sant Niranjan Das.  The upcoming visit is expected to be the Prime Minister's next visit to the state after his February tour. Security arrangements and other preparations are likely to be made once the official date is announced. As of now, no detailed programme or itinerary for the visit has been released. Government authorities are expected to share further information after the Prime Minister's schedule is finalised.

The announcement of the proposed August visit comes through Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, who said the Prime Minister will inaugurate the railway project and dedicate multiple development projects to Punjab during his visit.
