

SP Harinder Singh Gill from Police Station 7, Jalandhar has made some crucial revelations in the murder case of the five-year-old by her own father in Jalandhar. The officer confirmed how the father strangled his own daughter to death just because he could not tolerate the sound of her cry. The police reveal that after getting the information about the incident they reached the crime scene in Doordarshan Enclave and apprehended the accused father.
Based on the statement made by the neighbor, Himmat Kumar a case has been registered against the accused and a through probe has been initiated into the matter. The police officer shares that upon reaching the crime scene the police team found the accused Arvinder Kumar heavily intoxicated. Talking further he adds that the family had four members: the accused father Arvinder, his wife who works at people’s homes to earn livelihood, the deceased 5-year-old victim girl and another one-year-old child.
As per the information provided by the police, the girl was crying and asking for food due to which she was brutally strangled to death by her own father. As per the reports, the accused had been drinking alcohol since morning and then around 2:30 PM on February 3 the father took the five-year-old girls’ life after getting aggitated by her cries. The neighbors also say that the accused did not do any work and regularly used to beat his children and wife. The family had been going through a lot of financial stress and domestic tension.
The officer shares that the investigation is currently in the preliminary stage and all other possible angles are being probed to identify if there was any other hidden motive behind the murder. The officer also adds that the accused has confessed his crime and shows regret for his actions.
