The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has announced a scheduled power cut in Jalandhar today. Electricity supply will remain disrupted in several parts of the city between 10 AM and 2 PM due to ongoing maintenance and tree trimming work.
Officials from the department said that power cuts are being imposed regularly before the onset of winter to ensure uninterrupted supply later. On Sunday as well, supply was halted in half of the city till 2 PM for similar maintenance activities.
The department added that in many areas, tree branches have grown close to electric wires. To prevent supply disruptions in the coming weeks due to weather conditions or falling branches, temporary outages are being scheduled.
According to Powercom’s latest notification, three separate feeders will face power cuts for up to three hours today.
11 KVA Canal Feeder: Power will remain off from 11 AM to 2 PM, affecting Sher Singh Colony, Maharaja Garden, and Nahla village.
11 KVA Paruthi Feeder: Supply will be cut from 10 AM to 1 PM, impacting the Paruthi Hospital area.
11 KVA Dashmesh Nagar Feeder: Residents of Dashmesh Nagar, Ishwar Nagar, and Kala Sanghia Road will face outages from 10 AM to 1 PM.
Officials have advised residents to charge their inverters and complete essential work in advance, as supply may not resume before the scheduled time.
