Several areas of Jalandhar will witness scheduled power cuts on Sunday, May 17, 2026, due to maintenance and repair work at different substations.
According to the electricity department, power supply from the 220 KV Sub Station Badshahpur under Lambra Sub Division will remain shut from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The affected feeders include 11KV TV Tower, BM-2, Chitti, Cold Store, Gaddowali, Basant Vihar, Barsala, Nanaksar, Udhopur, Malko, Kang Sahboo, Gill Colony, Khurla Kingra, Lohara, Nijjran, Lambra and BM-1 feeders.
Residents living in areas connected to these feeders may experience electricity disruption during the scheduled maintenance period.
Meanwhile, due to urgent repair work at the 66 KV Chara Mandi Sub Station, power supply from the 11KV Ghai Nagar and 11KV Deol Nagar feeders will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday. Areas likely to be affected include Bhagat Singh Nagar, Char Marla, New Model House, Ghai Nagar, Deol Nagar, New Deol Nagar, Arora Colony, Tilak Nagar and nearby localities.
In another shutdown linked to the same Chara Mandi Sub Station, electricity supply from the 11KV Jalowal Abadi feeder and 11KV New Pioneer feeder will remain interrupted from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Areas expected to face power disruption include Bank Colony, KP Nagar, Raju Colony, Kartar Nagar and adjoining areas.
The power department has advised residents to plan their activities accordingly and cooperate during the maintenance work.
