Banks in Punjab will be closed on 15th August in order to celebrate the 78th independence year of India.
This festival will be succeeded by the other festival of Bhagwan Shri Krishan's birth, i.e., 16th August. As per the Hindu calendar, this festival occurs on the Asthami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada.
Not the least, these two holidays will be succeeded by one more holiday, i.e., 17th August, Sunday. Overall the Punjab banks will receive three consecutive holidays.
August month is offering a total five Sundays and two second Saturdays falling on 10th and 24th.
