Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s pulse rate improved today and his condition remains stable, doctors at Fortis Hospital, Mohali confirmed. He continues to be under round-the-clock observation in the ICU, where medical teams are closely monitoring his recovery. Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is scheduled to reach the hospital today to meet the Chief Minister.

Mann had been unwell for the past two days and was undergoing treatment at his official residence in Chandigarh. On Thursday, he was forced to cancel his scheduled visit to flood-affected areas in Kapurthala district alongside AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal due to high fever and weakness.

As his condition worsened on Friday, doctors decided to shift him to Fortis Hospital for specialized care. The state Cabinet meeting, which was scheduled the same day, was also cancelled.

Punjab has been reeling under devastating floods, with 1,698 villages across 23 districts submerged, affecting more than 3.8 lakh people and leaving 43 dead. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out on a large scale.

Kejriwal, during his visit to the flood-hit regions on Thursday, said CM Mann had fallen ill after touring the affected areas continuously for three to four days without adequate rest or meals. “Even in this condition, his only concern was how to provide maximum relief to the people of Punjab,” Kejriwal said.

Meanwhile, CM Mann has directed that a gazetted officer be deployed in every marooned village to supervise relief operations and ensure direct communication between the administration and the affected people.
