The Punjab government increases the budget allocation for the Rangla Punjab Vikas Scheme significantly. This scheme was launched by the Bhagwant Mann led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab government in FY 2025-26 with a budget allocation of ₹585 crore, with ₹5 crore for every 117-assembly constituency in Punjab.
In view of the good response to the implementation of the scheme, the Punjab government has doubled the budget allocation for the scheme to ₹1,170 crore for FY 2026-27 to create infrastructure facilities across the state, with ₹10 crore allocated for development works in each constituency.
This budget allocation will be used to create infrastructure facilities across the state. In order to maintain transparency and accountability for the implementation of the scheme, a separate digital portal has been set up. This will help the government to monitor the flow of funds from the treasury to the various agencies. In addition to this, all the projects undertaken through the implementation of the scheme will also be geo-tagged and photographed. This will help to create infrastructure facilities across the state, promoting balanced growth in the state.
