

In a major boost to sports development the Punjab government is planning to host the prestigious Asian Hockey Championship marking a possible return of the event to the state after 44 years and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is expected to make an official announcement and share key details during a press conference in Chandigarh today.
According to initial information Punjab is likely to secure the hosting rights which is being seen as part of the government’s ongoing push to promote sports and revive the state’s strong legacy in hockey and if confirmed, the move will not only bring international attention to Punjab but also create opportunities for local players, improve sports infrastructure and boost tourism in the region.
