The Punjab Government had earlier officially released a list of gazette holidays for the year 2026 and the notification was issued by the Personnel Department (Personnel Policy-3 Branch).
According to the schedule:
May Day will be observed on May 1, 2026 (Friday).
Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) will be observed on May 27, 2026 (Wednesday).
As per the official notification issued by the state these dates have been included in the list of gazette holidays for the month of May and all government offices, educational institutions and public sector organizations across Punjab will remain closed on these days. The decision is part of the government’s annual holiday calendar. Authorities have stated that while regular services will remain suspended, essential services will continue to function as per standard arrangements.
