

The Punjab government on Monday ordered the transfer and posting of 13 IAS officers and the decision has been taken on administrative grounds and has come into effect immediately. As part of the reshuffle changes have been made in key positions, including Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in some districts including Jalandhar.
According to the official order Himanshu Agarwal has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, while Varjeet Walia will now take charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar.
In another change IAS officer Babita (2009 batch) who was serving as Commissioner Agriculture has been given additional responsibility and now she will also serve as Commissioner of Ferozepur Division Ferozepur, against a vacant post.
The government said these changes have been made to meet administrative needs and ensure smooth functioning of departments.
