

A Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Bank Enclave near Kuki Tab was robbed in broad daylight on Monday by two assailants and according to initial reports the two accused came on a motorcycle around 2:30 PM and one of them entered the bank with a pistol while the other stayed outside to keep watch. The robber inside went straight to the cashier and demanded cash.
Bank staff said the cashier tried to delay at first but the situation turned serious when the robber pointed a gun and threatened to shoot and fearing for safety the cashier handed over the money. As per reports at the time of the incident around three to four customers were present inside the bank.
The robbers then escaped from the spot with cash worth lakhs however the exact amount has not been disclosed yet and is still being assessed by bank officials. The entire incident has been captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the bank and after getting the information DCP Manpreet Singh Dhillon reached the spot with police teams and started an investigation, the officials said the robbers had covered their faces and efforts are being made to identify and arrest them soon. Police have launched a search operation to catch the accused and multiple teams are working on the case.
