With the start of October, all eyes are on Punjab Winters 2025. Weather in Punjab has also started to change as the month started with rainfall in multiple districts. Now, IMD Chandigarh has put Punjab on thunderstorm and lightening alert.
IMD Chandigarh on Thursday night issued a fresh Punjab weather forecast. In their forecast, IMD predicted that most of the districts of Punjab will be hit by thunderstorms and lightening from October 5 to October 6. Continue reading below to check districts and dates-
October 5- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupngara, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda, Moga, Faridkot, Muktasar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, and Tarn Taran (all are on thunderstorm and hailstorm alert)
October 6- On Orange alert- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, and, Patiala.
On Yellow alert- Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Ludhiana, Muktasar, Fazilka, Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur and Mansa
IMD Chandigarh explained, "An Western Disturbance is likely to become active over Northwest India from October 4, 2025. It is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region and the adjoining plains of Northwest India during 5th to 7th Oct 2025."
