Punjab witnessed light to moderate rainfall at many places during last 24 hours and according to latest weather report thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds were also reported at a few places across state. Highest maximum temperature in Punjab was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius in Faridkot while lowest minimum temperature was 19 degrees Celsius in Ballowal Saunkari.
Among major rainfall recordings PAU Ludhiana received 6 cm rain followed by Ludhiana Irrigation station with 5 cm whereas Faridkot recorded 4 cm rainfall, Thein Dam in Pathankot district received 3 cm rain while several places including Ferozepur KVK, Ludhiana city, Talwandi Bhai, Pathankot IAF and Malikpur, recorded 2 cm rainfall each along with this other areas that received 1 cm rainfall include Khanna, Fazilka, Jagraon, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Halwara IAF, Nawanshahr and Ranjit Sagar Dam site. The weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall at a few places today and at isolated places in state during the following days meanwhile a gradual rise of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures is also expected over next five days with no major change after that.
Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely at isolated places today and for June 14 light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala and Mansa districts while on June 15 isolated rainfall is likely in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali). On June 16 light to moderate rainfall may occur at isolated places in Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa and Sangrur and for June 17 isolated rainfall is likely in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur and Patiala.
