Punjab is likely to witness a fresh spell of rain over coming days and according to latest weather forecast light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in different parts of state from June 27 to July 1 and rainfall is expected to become more widespread from July 2 onwards. According to weather department only light rain was recorded at isolated places in Punjab during the past 24 hours and during this period highest maximum temperature in state was 41.0 degrees Celsius which was recorded at Patiala while lowest minimum temperature was 25.5 degrees Celsius recorded at Ballowal Saunkri.

The forecast says that from June 27 to July 1 light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places across different districts of Punjab while from July 2 rainfall is expected at a few places in state and after that rain is likely at many places. The weather department has also said that there is no major change expected in maximum temperatures during next four days and after that temperatures are likely to fall.

For June 28 light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar and Patiala while there is no weather warning for the day meanwhile for June 29 light to moderate rainfall is again likely at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar and Patiala and no warning has been issued.

On June 30 light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) and no weather warning has been issued for this day as well but from July 1 weather conditions are expected to become more active as the weather department has forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph, at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) while on the same day light to moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in these districts.
