Rajvir Jawanda’s Unreleased Film ‘Yamla’ to Hit Theatres Soon, Posthumous Announcement made

The family of late Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda has announced that his unreleased film Yamla will soon be released in cinemas. Similar to how singer Sidhu Moosewala’s family ensured the release of his work after his passing, Jawanda’s family has now taken the same heartfelt step. Preparations for the film’s release have already begun.

The family recently hinted at the movie’s release through a post on social media. They also shared an emotional message, stating, “An artist may leave this world, but his art always lives on. In this journey of keeping him alive, a message from Rajvir’s family to Rakesh Mehta. Very soon, this ‘Yamla’ will reach your cinema screens.”

According to reports, Yamla was filmed in 2019 under the direction of Rakesh Mehta. The movie stars Rajvir Jawanda, Saanvi Dhiman, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Harby Sangha, Raghveer Boli, and Navneet Kaur Dhillon, while Bally Singh Kakar produced the project. The shooting took place in Amritsar and several other locations, though the release date was never officially announced.

The film’s announcement has brought back memories of the singer, whose charm and simplicity earned him immense love in the Punjabi music industry.

What Happened to Rajvir Jawanda?

On September 27, Rajvir Jawanda met with a tragic road accident while traveling on his bike from Baddi to Shimla. Near Pinjore, he lost control of his bike while trying to avoid two bulls fighting on the road. He was critically injured and admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he fought for his life for 11 days. Sadly, on the 12th day, at just 35 years of age, Rajvir Jawanda passed away, leaving behind his music and an unfinished cinematic journey that his family now wishes to honor through Yamla.
