

IAS officer of 2009 batch Mr Ramvir Singh on Tuesday took the charge as new Divisional Commissioner of Jalandhar and reiterated his firm commitment towards implementation of the policies of state government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann to further benefit the masses.
Pertinently, Mr. Ramvir Singh, a senior officer of the Indian Administrative service, has been serving the state government in various capacities. Known for his proactive and responsive approach towards public service, Mr. Ramvir Singh has a vast administrative experience in the state.
The experienced IAS officer has rendered services on key posts in the state government including as Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Sangrur and Pathankot, Managing Director Markfed and is currently serving the state as Secretary Punjab Mandi Board and Secretary Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner said that all out efforts will be made to further provide clean, transparent and responsive administration to the people. He said that no stone will be left unturned to ensure the progress of the region and prosperity of its residents adding that major thrust will be laid on the execution of the flagship programs of the state.
Mr. Ramvir Singh said that a transparent mechanism will be evolved for further streamlining the administrative functioning in the Division.
The Divisional Commissioner further said that he will carry forward the welfare programs and policies of the Punjab government to percolate its benefits to the weaker and underprivileged sections of the society.
Mr. Ramvir Singh further said that he will also ensure that an effective and transparent mechanism was further put in place for benefiting the people of the region in a big way. He said that every effort will be made to further streamline the functioning of the government departments and to ensure that people were immensely benefited from the government schemes.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Himanshu Aaggarwal welcomed the new Divisional Commissioner in his office.
Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner was given Guard of Honor by a contingent of Punjab Police.
Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Ms Aashika Jain, Director Information and Public Relations Mr Vimal Setia, Additional Director Information and Public Relations Mr Sandeep Garha, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Naresh Dogra and others.
