A dead body has been recovered from a pond situated in Sarhali village, Jalandhar. As per reports, the deceased has been identified as a resident of Sarhali village Santokh Ram alias Baru Ram, son of Gian Chand. Sources reveal that the police were informed by the locals after they discovered the body floating in the pond. Police team from Chonki Jandiala reached the spot and took the body into custody and have initiated a probe into the matter.
The body was sent to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for post-mortem to determine the cause of the death, at present the police are investigating the matter from all possible angles. Talking about the case, the sarpanch Harmesh Lal from Sarhali village informs that some youths of the village had called him and informed him about the dead body floating in the pond. He adds that as soon as the information was received by him, he rushed to the spot and the family members of the deceased were informed. He also assured that a legal course would take place and prompt action would be taken in the case.
