Chandigarh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has summoned Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal for questioning today in connection with the Punjab sacrilege case.
According to the notice, Sukhbir Badal has been asked to appear before the SIT at 11 am at the Punjab Police Officers’ Institute, Chandigarh.
Sukhbir Badal has already come under political and religious scrutiny over the sacrilege cases.
The investigation has also revealed that before action was taken against the protesters, former Akali MLA Mantar Brar had spoken with the then Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the Director General of Police (DGP).
The then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) also confirmed that the orders to remove the protesting demonstrators were issued during the night.
