State Event Celebrates Bhagwan Valmiki Ji's Teachings of Truth and Humanity

To mark Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji’s Prakash Diwas, a state level event was organised today at Bhagwan Valmiki Yog Ashram, Rahimpur. Cabinet Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO and Mohinder Bhagat; Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann; MLA Balkar Singh; MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann; and Deepak Bali, Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, paid obeisance at the event. On the occasion, they sought the blessings of Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji and prayed for the welfare of all.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann said that the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji are a source of inspiration for all humanity. These teachings emphasise truth, goodness, humanity and morality and remain relevant even in the present times. She said that by composing the sacred Ramayana, Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji conveyed the message of the victory of good over evil. She encouraged people to incorporate the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji into their lives for creation of a prosperous society.

She said that the great gurus, saints and revered spiritual personalities of our country have conveyed the message of serving humanity and working for the welfare of all. Following their teachings, the Punjab Government is working for the development and betterment of every section of society without any discrimination. She said that the Punjab Government is organising state-level events at various places in the state dedicated to the Prakash Diwas of Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji to spread his message to every corner of the world.

She said that the Punjab Government respects all religions equally. She added that, with the launch of the Chief Minister’s Tirath Yatra Scheme, senior citizens are being provided with opportunities to visit various religious places across the country. She also said that the Punjab Government is undertaking the beautification of Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, located in Sri Amritsar Sahib, at a cost of several crores of rupees.

On the occasion, Cabinet Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO and Mohinder Bhagat said in their addresses that the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji strengthen the spirit of equality, brotherhood and mutual respect in society. They said that, by following the path shown by Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj Ji, we should always strive for the betterment of society and the service of humanity. They called upon people to adopt the great message of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji in their lives and further strengthen the bonds of mutual harmony and togetherness.

They said that such religious events provide an opportunity to connect with our rich heritage and culture. In particular, these events play an important role in connecting the younger generation with our glorious history and religious heritage.

Sant Pragat Nath Ji extended greetings to the congregation on the occasion of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s Prakash Diwas and conveyed the message of incorporating his teachings into daily life. He said that the teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji serve as a guiding light for all humanity, inspiring us to respect human beings, follow the path of truth and work for the welfare of society.

On the occasion, MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann, MLA Balkar Singh and Deepak Bali, Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, addressed the gathering and called upon people to adopt the eternal teachings of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji in their lives to build an ideal society.

Several other saints and revered spiritual personalities, along with religious, social and political figures, were also present on the occasion. Those present included Mangal Singh Bassi, Chairman of the Punjab Agro Export Corporation; Darshan Singh Tahli, Chairman of the Nagar Council; Pawan Hans, Vice Chairman; Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, AAP leader; and a large number of devotees.
