Floods in Punjab are becoming severe day by day. Till now, 12 districts of Punjab have been reeling under flood. Punjab Flood 2025 is being said as the worst flood the state has witnessed in decades.
On Tuesday, due to heavy rains in Punjab, the flow of water in Sutlej river has increased, due to which there is a danger of flood in the areas around Phillaur.
Water of Sutlej has reached Shanigaon. According to the information, the water in the village is up to 8 feet and the road has been closed.
Last night, the DC had issued an alert and said that due to continuous rain for the last few hours, the water of rivers and drains is going rapidly into Sutlej. This can affect Phillaur and the surrounding villages.
He said that although the possibility of water coming is very less, but it is possible that due to the fast flow of Sutlej, some areas may get flooded. At present, administrative teams are maintaining vigilance in all the affected areas and are constantly monitoring the dams.
