A devastating case has come to light from Jagraon, Ludhiana. A 25-year-old from Jagraon village had filled a compliant with the police, accusing the head sewadar, Baljinder Singh of Charan Ghat in Jagraon. The 25-year-old had accused the head sewadar of raping her. She claims that he lured her into a private hotel in Moga and later committed the crime.
The women’s family had been a frequent visitor to the Dera. Apparently, the women had gone there seeking help for her drug-addict brother. This is when Baljinder Singh took the chance and lured the young women into a hotel. The ‘baba’ had claimed that he would perform a ‘special prayer’ for her. But the truth turned out to be different. After luring her into the trap he raped and assaulted her brutally. He even captured the entire incident on camera and continued to blackmail the women thereon.
As per reports, after this incident he kept on forcing to continue visiting the Dera twice every week, where he continued raping her. Another women has also come forward and filled a complaint against the same baba in Ludhiana. Upon receiving the second complaint the Moga police registered a case against the accused, Baljinder Singh on September 18, 2024 on the charges of rape and intimidation, and subsequently arrested him.
On Monday, January 5, 2026, during a hearing of the case in Moga court, Baljinder Singh was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison along with a fine of Rs 55,000 imposed on him.
