Kapurthala: Three minors, including a 13-year-old girl, have gone missing from Baba Deep Singh Nagar in Kapurthala, triggering concern among residents and leaving their families in distress. Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the area.

DSP Sub-Division Sheetal Singh said that the process of registering a case at the City Police Station is underway based on the statements of the family members. He added that CCTV cameras installed near the children's residence are being scrutinized to gather leads.

According to the family, the three children were playing together in the street on Sunday evening. When family members checked on them a short while later, they had disappeared. After conducting an extensive search in the neighbourhood and at relatives' homes without success, the family informed the police.

The family, who earn their livelihood through daily wage labour, said that the children did not attend school and instead assisted with household responsibilities. They maintained that they have no personal enmity or disputes with anyone, making the children's sudden disappearance all the more puzzling.

Family members further claimed that they received information from an individual who reportedly saw the three children near Phagwara travelling in a white-coloured vehicle. Acting on this tip, the family has also been searching independently, but no breakthrough has been made so far.

Police said the case is being investigated with utmost seriousness. Officials are pursuing all available leads and verifying information provided by the family and other sources. They expressed confidence that the missing children would be traced and reunited safely with their family at the earliest.
