

Vehicle loses control near Dinka Ghar after midnight
A Bolero taxi plunged into a deep gorge on the Bharmour-Pathankot highway near Dinka Ghar in Himachal Pradesh late Thursday night, leaving two people dead.
The deceased have been identified as Ravinder Kumar, 39, son of Machla Ram, a resident of Bharmour, and Vishal Kumar, 32, son of Karnail Singh, a resident of Gausan in Bharmour.
According to information, Ravinder Kumar was driving the Bolero taxi bearing registration number HP-01C-3250 when he, along with Vishal Kumar, travelled to a petrol pump in Lahal to refuel the vehicle.
Both were returning to Bharmour
After midnight, the two were returning to Bharmour when the vehicle reportedly went out of control near Dinka Ghar. The Bolero then veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge.
When the two failed to return for a long time and could not be contacted on their mobile phones, their families and acquaintances began searching for them.
During the search, the vehicle was found in an accident-damaged condition in the gorge near Dinka Ghar.
Locals helped recover the victims
With the help of local residents and others, both occupants were pulled out of the gorge and taken to Civil Hospital Bharmour for treatment.
However, doctors examined them and declared both dead.
Police begin investigation
After receiving information about the accident, a police team reached the spot and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The damaged Bolero has been taken into police custody as part of the investigation.
Superintendent of Police Vijay Saklani said the exact cause of the accident is being investigated. He added that the bodies will be handed over to the families after the post-mortem examination.
