The police have arrested two persons in connection with the firing case. Giving information about the case, SSP Harvinder Singh Virk said that on February 19, there was firing at the house of a man named Manjit in Bhatnura village. Police have arrested two persons in this connection. The arrested shooters have been identified as Gopal alias Gopa and Gurbakhsh Singh alias Andy. A 30-bore pistol was recovered from the possession of the accused. The SSP said that 2 youths came to Manjit’s house late at 3.15 am and fled after firing outside the house.
A case was registered on the basis of Manjeet’s statements. During the investigation, it was found that there was a dispute over Manjit’s property. The investigation found that Manjit’s nephew had a dispute with Gursharanjit Singh and Gursharan did not want to have any conversation with him. In such a situation, Gursharan had also forbidden his mother to participate in any of Manjit’s programs. Manjit Singh’s daughter’s wedding was in the house and preparations were going on in the house for her. During this time, Gursharan hired a man named Lucky in the USA to threaten the family. Lucky hired 2 shooters ahead and fired at Manjit’s house.
The police recovered the weapons from the accused. Along with this, the Hyundai unnumbered car was recovered. During interrogation, it was revealed that Lucky had made a deal with the accused to carry out the incident for one lakh rupees and Lucky had given 80 thousand rupees. Lucky had provided the weapon and money to the accused in the hands of another boy. The SSP said raids were on to arrest the accused. Among the accused, 8 cases have been registered against Gopal and 4 cases have been registered against Gurbakhsh under NDPS Act and Arms Act. Along with this, another case of 307 was found to be registered. The accused will be produced in the court and police remand will be obtained. Other revelations are likely to be made in the interrogation of the accused.
