

A shocking robbery incident was reported in Jalandhar’s posh Urban Estate area on 22nd July around 8:30 AM, where two bike-borne snatchers targeted a 56-year-old woman and fled after forcibly snatching her earring. The incident not only left the woman in shock but also caused a serious injury, as her ear started bleeding due to the force used during the snatching. Doctors later had to put two stitches on her injured ear.
Injury to the victim
The forceful snatching caused a deep injury to her ear, resulting in heavy bleeding. Hearing her cries, family members rushed to the spot and took her to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Doctors examined the injury and provided treatment.
Investigation of the case
In further investigation of the case, police held both the bike-borne riders and recovered the earrings along with the bike used in the robbery. The police then returned the earring to the victim, Sita Devi. The accused have been arrested by the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar
Identification of the accused
The accused have been identified as Harminder Singh son of Kuldeep Singh while the other as Gurpreet Singh son of Kamaljeet Singh. It was found that both the miscreants are residents of Ishwarpuri colony, Kala Singha
Arrest of the robbers
According to the special tip off received to the police, the motorcycle used in robbery was spotted at Lohar Nangal. Police authorities chased both the miscreants down, when the motorcycle slipped causing severe injuries to both the robbers.
Criminal records of the miscreants
In investigation of the case, it was found that both the accused have past records in snatching and robbery. Harminder Singh has 1 FIR filed under snatching while Gurpreet Singh has a total of 6 cases of snatching and robbery on him.
