The death of Varinder Singh Ghuman has shocked entire bodybuilding as well as Punjab. Bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman on Thursday night died due to cardiac arrest. Ghuman reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment for a shoulder injury at Fortis Hospital in Amritsar.
Following Varinder Singh Ghuman's death, a ruckus broke out between doctors present at the hospital and friends, relatives of Varinder Singh Ghuman. Varinder Singh Ghuman's relatives demanded the video of Operation Theater as they sense negligence of the hospital due to which the bodybuilder died after a minor shoulder surgery.
Jalandhar Cantt MLA Pargat Singh while talking to True Scoop also expressed that it he also feels that there might be some negligence.

The official statement of Fortis Escorts, Amritsar reads-
"Mr. Varinder Singh Ghuman was evaluated in the OPD on 6th October 2025 for pain and restricted movement in his right shoulder. Following clinical assessment, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with biceps tenodesis was advised. The patient had no known comorbidities.
He underwent the planned procedure under general anaesthesia on 9th October 2025. The surgery was uneventful and was completed around 3 PM with stable vital parameters throughout.
At approximately 3:35 PM, the patient developed a sudden cardiac arrhythmia. The anaesthesia, cardiology, cardiac anaesthesia, and critical care teams immediately initiated advanced resuscitation measures. Despite sustained and coordinated efforts, the patient could not be revived and was declared dead at 5:36 PM.
Fortis Hospital deeply regrets this unfortunate loss and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and his numerous fans."
