

A 24-year-old woman died after falling from the roof of Block D at Jalandhar Heights-2, with the circumstances surrounding her death now being investigated by the police.
The deceased has been identified as Jasmine and according to the Sadar police, information was received about the woman falling from the roof of a flat in Block D.
A police team reached the spot after being informed about the incident and took possession of the body and the body was subsequently sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police said the exact cause and circumstances of the death will be established after the post-mortem report is received.
Sub-Inspector Balkaran of Sadar police station said the initial information received by the police was that Jasmine had jumped from the roof, and during the preliminary inquiry, police learnt that she had completed her education and was reportedly facing mental distress.
The police have informed Jasmine's family about the incident.
Statements from the family members will also form part of the investigation, following which further action will be taken as per the findings, and at present, police have not established the complete circumstances leading up to the woman's death. The post-mortem examination and statements of the family are expected to help investigators determine what exactly happened before she fell from the building.
