Punjab Government on Wednesday night announced a major shakeup in the administrative department. In the Punjab Government's latest rejig, 31 IAS and PCS officers were transferred. It included 3 Deputy Commissioners.
In the latest order, the Government of Punjab also transferred 2017-batch IAS Officer, Gautam Jain who was posted as Commissioner of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. IAS Gautam Jain is now posted as Additional Secretary, Personnel and in addition Managing Director, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation Ltd. in place of IAS officer Vineet Kumar.

The answer is 2015-batch IAS Officer Sandeep Rishi. Sandeep Rishi was previously posted as DC Sangrur.
The official transfer order reads, "Services are placed at the disposal of the Department of Local Government for posting as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar in place of Shri Gautam Jain, IAS".
Notably, it is not the first time, IAS Sandeep Rishi will be serving as MC Commissioner. In August 2023, Sandeep Rishi was posted as Commissioner of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.
He served at Ludhiana MC for over a year. During his time in Ludhiana, Sandeep Rishi had to face challenges like illegal construction issues, etc.
