A youth returning home from Shahkot from Dubai lost his life in a road accident on the Lohian-Malsian road. Two of his friends accompanying him also got injured in the accident. As per reports, Deepak, a resident of Kotla Surajmal village in Shahkot, had called up his family and informed them about his return. He told them that he would reach his village by bus after landing at Amritsar airport. Later, Deepak informed his friends, identified as Vansh Arora and Sahil Arora about his India arrival. Both his friends were also residents of Shahkot.
His friends upon learning about this, went to pick him up in an i20 car. After picking him up, and returning back their car collided with a Swift car and crashed into a truck near Nihaluwal village, later the car went out of control and hit a tree.
Nearby public immediately jumped to their rescue and tried to pull the three out of the car wreckage. It is being reported that Deepak Sharma died on the spot and his friends sustained injuries. One of his friends, Vansh Arora is said to have gotten severely wounded, while his other friend Sahil Arora sustained minor injuries.
ASI Harvinder Singh of Lohian police station informs that a case has been registered and a probe is underway in the case. The deceased Deepak is survived by his wife and two children.
