The Punjab government has moved the Supreme Court against the Centre's decision to increase the territorial jurisdiction of Border Security Force (BSF) from 15 km to 50 km off international border for states including Punjab.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Wednesday, and urged the latter to withdrew the decision to extend the territorial jurisdiction of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Bengal.

The statement comes two days after a special Punjab Assembly session was held to pass a resolution against the notification to extend the BSF’s jurisdiction from 15 km to 50 km.
