

Indian men's hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh visited Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar along with his family after India's successful campaign in the FIH Pro League. The hockey star paid obeisance at the shrine and offered prayers for the well-being of all, the country's progress and the continued success of the Indian hockey team.
Offered prayers after Pro League campaign
After paying obeisance at the Golden Temple, Harmanpreet thanked Waheguru for the team's performance in the tournament. He said he considers himself fortunate to visit the holy shrine after major tournaments and seek blessings. He also prayed for peace, prosperity and the country's continued progress.
Happy with team's performance
Speaking to the media, Harmanpreet expressed happiness over India's performance in the FIH Pro League. He said the team's success was the result of collective effort, hard work and unity showed by every player throughout the tournament. Speaking about India's victory over Pakistan, the Indian captain said, matches between the two neighbouring countries are always special and hold great significance for players as well as fans. He added that defeating a strong side like Pakistan boosts the confidence of the entire team and motivates the players for future competitions.
Harmanpreet expressed hope that the Indian team would continue performing consistently in the upcoming tournaments and bring more medals and honors for the country.
World cup and other tournaments
He also marked his visit to the shrine to seek blessings from the Sikh Guru for the upcoming Hockey World Cup to be hosted by Belgium and Netherlands. The world Cup starts from August 15. He also informed that it is a busy year for the team and have many national and international tournaments lined up and hope to win all of them.
Message for youngsters
The Indian captain also shared a message for young athletes aspiring to represent the country. He said India has no shortage of talent, but success comes through dedication, discipline and honest hard work. He encouraged youngsters to stay focused on their goal, respect their coaches and continue learning from their seniors. According to Harmanpreet, players who remain committed to their goals and work with sincerity will eventually achieve success.
Calls Golden Temple a source of peace
Sharing his personal connection with Sri Harmandir Sahib, Harmanpreet said he has been visiting the holy shrine with his family since childhood. He said that visiting the Golden Temple before or after major tournaments has become a part of his life. To this he added that the spiritual peace and positivity one experiences at Sri Harmandir Sahib cannot be expressed in words and that every visit gives him renewed strength and motivation to perform for the country.
