A film titled ‘The Ninth Master: Way of a Warrior’ is making headlines for bringing Sikh culture to the global stage and is being called the world’s first ‘English-language Sikh superhero film’.
The film is written, directed and led by Flex Singh who also plays the main role and tells the story of an orphan boy who grows up to become a powerful warrior and along the way the story focuses on important Sikh values like Chardi Kala (staying positive and strong even in tough times) and Seva (helping others without expecting anything in return).
According to the makers the aim of the film is to help English-speaking audiences better understand Sikh beliefs and traditions through an action-packed story that mixes martial arts with Sikh heritage, taking inspiration from fighting styles like Samurai, Spartans and Vikings to make the story more engaging.
Apart from action and culture the film also highlights serious issues and touches upon crimes faced by the Sikh community and shows real-life problems in the UK, such as gang violence and homelessness.
The film had its world premiere in the UK on February 21, 2026, and was later released in cities like Birmingham and East London in March and received a strong response from audiences during these screenings. The makers have now announced that the film will soon be released in countries like India and Canada.
