Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced the launch of an intensive statewide campaign against drug abuse, starting May 2. The initiative aims to mobilize every village and ward under a united front against the drug menace.

Key actions under the CM’s leadership:

• District-level meetings will be held from May 2 to May 4 to prepare ground action plans.
• Beginning May 7, mass public rallies will take place in every village and ward.
• Sarpanches, police forces, and administrative officials will jointly drive the campaign at the grassroots level.
• Village Defense Committees (VDCs) and Ward Defense Committees will take charge of operations in rural and urban areas respectively.
