
Late on Friday night, the central government removed BSF Chief Director General Nitin Agarwal and Deputy Special Director General YB Khurania from their posts. Both officers have been directed to report to their respective home cadres (Nitin Agarwal to Kerala and Khurania to Odisha).
According to media reports, on July 30, the Ministry of Home Affairs instructed the Cabinet Appointments Committee to issue the orders, following which Sakshi Mittal, Director of the Department of Personnel Training, issued the directives.
However, the reasons for the removal of these top officials and their new responsibilities have not yet been disclosed. Additionally, the names of the new BSF Chief and Deputy Chief have also not been announced.
