The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against an individual in connection with cross-border smuggling of weapons and explosives through drones in the border areas of Gurdaspur district, Punjab. A spokesperson for NIA stated that charges were filed against a person named Malkit Singh alias Pistol in a special court in Mohali, Punjab. The Border Security Force (BSF) seized five pistols manufactured in Austria, along with 10 magazines and 91 live cartridges, from BSF personnel. The case was initially registered on March 24 at the Dera Baba Nanak police station in Batala. The spokesperson mentioned that NIA took over the case on August 8 and filed charges under the Arms Act, Aircraft Act, and UAPA.
