
A chaotic situation unfolded at New Delhi Railway Station around 10 PM when an unprecedented rush developed near platforms 13 & 14. The sudden crowd surge led to passengers fainting, which triggered rumors of a stampede-like situation, causing further panic.
In the tragic incident, 15 people, including 3 children, lost their lives, while 10 others sustained injuries. The situation was later brought under control, and to ease the rush, Northern Railways ran four special trains. Meanwhile, the RPF and Delhi Police rushed the injured to nearby hospitals.
The Ministry of Railways has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences. Further updates are awaited.
