
Northern Railway has made an official announcement about cancellations in train operations due to the rise in water level to the danger mark at Bridge No-84 between Makhu and Gidarpindi railway stations. With the aim of securing passengers' safety and ensuring operational efficiency, several trains have been cancelled, short-originated, short-terminated, or diverted on September 4, 2025.
Eight trains between Firozpur and Jalandhar have been cancelled on 4th September 2025, including trains numbered 74939, 74931, 74935, 74936, 74937, 74940, and others.
Certain trains will short start or short end at Makhu to avoid travel over the affected bridge zone. For example, train no. 74933 and 54643 will short start from Makhu, whereas train no. 54644 and 74938 will short end at Makhu.
On 4th and 5th September, there are further cancellations on trains like 74932.
Train 13308 (Firozpur-Dhanbad) will travel via Firozpur-Moga-Ludhiana instead of its scheduled path. Train 13307 (Dhanbad-Firozpur) has also been following a path via Ludhiana-Moga-Firozpur since September 2, 2025.
Several trains on this alignment will be short-terminated or short-originated at Hardorawal station on September 4, 2025.
Trains 74651, 74653, 74655 and 74657 will short terminate at Hardorawal while trains 74652, 74654, 74656 and 74658 will short originate from Hardorawal.
All travelers are strongly requested by the railway authorities to confirm the “current status” of trains before boarding, to assist with the ongoing alterations in the disastrous flood situation. Northern Railway will continue to monitor and control the situation and restore regular operations in a safe manner.
