The court ordered a Ludhiana company operating "Punjab Haveli" in Jammu to dismount any advertisement and promotional boards carrying identical designs and names, safeguarding the exclusive trademark rights of the Jalandhar Haveli operator.

This legal battle had been ongoing for many years, with both establishments having opened outlets along national highways, targeting travelers and city visitors as well.

The rivalry went into overdrive when Satyari Jain-owned Jalandhar Haveli, which has been operating since 2001, alleged that its Jammu counterpart was stealing not just its name but also the English, Hindi, and Punjabi names, the theme of the architecture, and the signage.

Jain claimed his company's registration of the term "Haveli" is across several languages and is known to provide an original Punjabi dining experience.

In retaliation, Jammu Haveli operators filed a counter-plea but the court ordered them to take down all boards resembling the name in regions near the main roads between Punjab and Jammu districts.

As per the information the court will further hear this high-profile case on December 26.
