

22 Punjab Assembly elections changed political landscape of the state with Aam Aadmi Party registering a landslide victory and forming its first government in Punjab and according to official results declared by Election Commission of India AAP won 92 of 117 Assembly seats comfortably crossing majority mark of 59 seats while Indian National Congress which was in power before the election was reduced to 18 seats, Akali Dal won 3 seats, BJP secured 2 seats, BSP won 1 seat and one Independent candidate emerged victorious.

Punjab recorded a voter turnout of around 72% according to official election data.
The election delivered one of the biggest mandates in Punjab's electoral history where AAP led by Bhagwant Mann won across all three major regions of state and established a clear majority on its own and the victory marked first time that AAP formed a full-majority government in Punjab.
Malwa Region
Malwa which has 69 Assembly seats proved to be biggest strength of AAP as the party won 66 seats leaving very little space for its rivals.
Majha Region
In Majha's 25 seats AAP secured 16 seats while Congress retained influence in several constituencies.
Doaba Region
In 23-seat Doaba region AAP won 10 seats, Congress secured 9 seats and the remaining seats went to other parties.

Sunam
AAP leader Aman Arora defeated his Congress rival by 75,277 votes making it one of the biggest victory margins in state.
Bathinda Urban
Jagroop Singh Gill (AAP) won by 63,581 votes.
Mansa
Vijay Singla (AAP) secured victory with a margin of 63,323 votes.
Dhuri
Chief Ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann won Dhuri seat by 58,206 votes.
Budhlada
Budh Ram (AAP) registered a victory margin of 51,691 votes.
Dirba
Harpal Singh Cheema (AAP) won by 50,655 votes.
One of the closest elections was held in Dera Baba Nanak where Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa defeated SAD candidate by just 466 votes.
The election saw several senior political leaders losing their seats.
Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi lost from Bhadaur to Labh Singh Ugoke (AAP) by 37,558 votes. Channi also lost from Chamkaur Sahib where Dr. Charanjit Singh (AAP) defeated him by 7,942 votes.
Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu was defeated in Amritsar East by Jeevan Jyot Kaur (AAP) with a margin of 6,750 votes.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal lost Jalalabad seat to Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy (AAP) by 30,930 votes.
Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was defeated in Lambi by Gurmeet Singh Khudian (AAP) with a margin of 11,396 votes.
Former Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh contesting from Patiala lost to Ajit Pal Singh Kohli (AAP) by 19,873 votes.
Singer and Congress candidate Sidhu Moosewala lost the Mansa seat to Vijay Singla (AAP) by 63,323 votes.

Mohali: Kulwant Singh (AAP) won by 37,885 votes.
Kharar: Anmol Gagan Mann (AAP) won by 37,718 votes.
Patiala: Ajit Pal Singh Kohli (AAP) defeated Capt. Amarinder Singh by 19,873 votes.
2022 Punjab Assembly election reshaped the state's political scene in several ways:
AAP formed its first government in Punjab with a clear majority.
Congress recorded one of its poorest Assembly performances in the state.
