: India's oldest registered Gatka organization, the National Gatka Association of India, in collaboration with the Gatka Association Delhi and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, is all set to host the prestigious 11th National Gatka Championship from October 11 to 12, 2023. The Gatka championship would take place at the renowned Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi and feature men and women categories for Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior participants.

To assess the readiness and organization of upcoming Gatka competition, a crucial meeting was convened in New Delhi, chaired by National Gatka Association President Harjeet Singh Grewal. In attendance were Sarbjit Singh Virk, Chairman of Gatka Association Delhi and Member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Gurmeet Singh Rana, State President, Jeetinderpal Singh, General Secretary, Major Singh, Joint Secretary, and Joginder Singh Budh Vihar, Director of the Coaching Directorate of the National Gatka Association.

During the meeting various committees responsible for overseeing the event's arrangements were briefed about their specific responsibilities. Giving more details Grewal and Virk elaborated on the championship, highlighting that Gatka teams representing different age groups of both boys and girls from a minimum of 18 states would participate in this two-day national event. The organizers have taken extensive measures to ensure the comfort and convenience of participants, including separate accommodations for boys and girls players, as well as arrangements for providing complimentary langar. Additionally, lodging facilities have been secured for referees and judging teams.

They emphasized the importance of participating teams adhering to the approved sports kits allocated by their respective states. All Gatka players from across the states are encouraged to actively take part in this prestigious competition, showcasing their skills and dedication to this traditional martial art.
