The 2023 Royal Rumble kickstarted with Pat McAfee returning to the WWE and joining the commentary team. The traditional Royal Rumble started with 30 men's battle royal match by Gunther and Sheamus at 1st and 2nd position respectively. However, it was the number 3 entrant The Miz who was the first superstar to be eliminated from the battle royal match. Soon, the number 9 entrant Drew Mcintyre eliminated Karrion Kross. On number 1, Intercontinental champion Gunther and on number 2, 2012 winner Sheamus started the match. On Number 3, The Mizz entered the ring and on number 4, Royal Rumble veteran Kofi Kingston entered the ring. And on number 5 Johnny Gargano entered the ring.
