Air India slashes 15% of international flights; 83 canceled, refund guide issued

The reports have claimed that the international flights of Air India have been decreased by around 15 percent, effective until mid-July 2025.

In the wake of the fatal plane crash of the London Gatwick-bound Boeing 787-8, multiple Air India flights have been canceled recently because of various reasons, including changes in enhanced checks of the Dreamliner fleet. 

The reports have claimed that the international flights of Air India have been decreased by around 15 percent, effective until mid-July 2025. During the recent days, the airline has recently seen disruption and cancellation of around 83 international flights.

Step 2 - Click on the ‘status check on pending refund’

How to request a refund for an Air India flight?

For the initiation of a refund request, go to the official website of Air India and then go to the booking section -> select the refund option. 

For a refund of tickets, in case of city booking or airports, kindly approach your nearest Air India reservation office. On the contrary, when the ticket is bought at a travel agent or any other online portal, you will have to call back the office of the concerned agent to get the money back.

Even Until When One May Apply for Refund?

It is within two years of your flight ticket that you can apply to get a refund. In the event of a refund request, Air India usually takes 10 to 14 days of business.

THE CRASH - 

The fatal, heartbreaking, and heart-wrenching airplane crash happened on June 12, 2025, which killed all but one passenger out of a total of 242 passengers and crew on board, along with another 29 people - on the ground. 

The plane crashed within a few minutes of take off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and hit the nearby campus of the medical college in the Meghaninagar area, following which it burst into flames.
