Airline suspended services in Punjab amid Ind-Pak border tensions— Check the list of affected airports and refund status

Keeping the escalating India-Pakistan conflict in mind, the government has extended the closure of 24 airports till May 14.

Air India stated its flights from and to the following stations—Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Bhuj, Jamnagar, and Rajkot—"are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 15 May, pending further updates.

Hundreds of flights have been rescheduled or cancelled by several airlines, such as SpiceJet, IndiGo, Air India, Akasa Air, and Air India Express, since 27 airports in north and northwestern India are still shut down. The mass shutdown has severely impacted air travel, with 430 flights cancelled on Thursday alone-covering almost 3% of India's scheduled flights.

Flight-tracking site Flightradar24 revealed almost empty skies over India's western corridor and Pakistan.

In Punjab, the following flights have been affected:

Major carriers, including Air India and IndiGo, have canceled several flights and diverted especially in Punjab, to Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot, and Adampur, while Chandigarh airport is in the Chandigarh region.

Reportedly, the grievances raised by affected passengers have been addressed timely manner, and the refund procedure has been initiated so that all refunds are done timely manner.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has instructed all airports and airlines in the country to enhance security. "Because of an order from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security for additional security measures at airports, passengers nationwide are advised to make extra time for check-in and boarding. Check-in will be closed 75 minutes before departure," Air India stated.
