Following the conclusion of the Punjab Congress crisis, Ajay Maken, the AICC general secretary in charge in Rajasthan has hinted at a similar solution for crisis in the Rajasthan unit. His retweet has caused a stir in state congress and left the Gehlot Camp shocked.

Amid Gehlot and Sachin Pilot tussle, Maken has retweeted a tweet that was in support of Sidhu’s elevation as Punjab unit head and criticised the CM’s including Amarinder Singh, Ashok Gehlot, and the late Sheila Dikshit.

The original tweet had stated that once such individuals are appointed as chief ministers, they begin to believe that their party won because of them.

“No leader can win by himself. The poor and weaker sections' votes are cast under the name of Nehru and Gandhi families. Regardless of whether it's Amarinder Singh, Gehlot, Sheila, or anyone else! They begin to believe that the party won because of them as soon as they become Chief Minister."

The tweet went on to say that “The leadership did the right thing by anointing Sidhu as Punjab PCC chief. It was necessary to show strength.”

After Maken retweeted this long tweet, political circles in Rajasthan speculated that the Punjab tale will be repeated there as well.

“It is time for serious action to stop this fight between the two camps (in Rajsthan),” a senior party worker said in an interview. "People and party workers are suffering as a result. There is resentment among Congress workers in the state because there has been no cabinet enlargement to date," he added.

Recently, Maken had been to Jaipur to get Sachin Pilot camp a place in the cabinet and advocate Pilot's involvement in the political appointments of the state. He met CM Ashok Gehlot twice, however, Gehlot was unwilling to share power with Pilot.
